Comprehensive sensory-based pediatric occupational therapy clinic in Gilford, NH

Occupational therapy promotes a child’s occupations to learn, grow, develop and play. If your child struggles with learning, motor, attention, anxiety, or sensory processing, Kids Achieve, LLC can help! Kids Achieve, LLC is focused on supporting children in their learning and development through a 1:1 strengths-based approach, meaning we meet children right where they are at!

Every single day can be a challenge for a child dealing with special sensory needs. Tasks like dressing, eating, school, and social activities turn into acting out, shutting down, tantrums, and lagging behind their peers.

This leads you to question your competence as their guardian and worry about their well-being as they grow into adults. They have needs that neither of you fully understand, and it’s affecting the entire family unit.

Fortunately, at Kids Achieve, LLC we support families just like yours. We know that your child is not trying to get their way or manipulate you. Frustration, anxiety, depression, and acting out are outward displays of internal and external sensory input that they don’t yet know how to cope with. But they deserve to live a life fulfilled, too!

With skilled therapy intervention and education, we help your child to regulate abnormal sensory input to develop physical coordination, emotional maturity, social skills, and self-confidence needed to navigate life on a daily basis and grow into a well-adapted adult.

  • To change their behavior, kids must feel safe to do so

Kids Achieve, LLC Improves Children’s Motor Skills

Fine Motor Skills: Children use fine motor skills whenever their hands are involved in an activity. Certain tasks such as buttoning, zipping, and holding a pencil when writing require adequate hand strength, control, and dexterity. Some children have trouble with these tasks or may avoid them altogether!

Gross Motor Skills: When children use whole body movements to perform tasks they are using their gross motor skills. These include balance, bilateral coordination, and organizing the sequence of movements in a task. If your child has poor gross motor skills, he or she may have difficulty participating in team sports, maintaining an upright position while seated, and engaging in activities where both hands are needed.

Kids Achieve, LLC Helps Address Sensory Issues

Treatment with pediatric occupational therapy is beneficial for children with sensory issues or over- and under-responsivity to certain sensory stimuli.

Your child may be processing sensory information differently if he or she is sensitive to sounds, touch, or different foods. In addition, he or she may be seeking out sensory input throughout their day including loving to crash their body into things and seek out rotary (spinning) movement.
